Who is the person behind The Elegant Wanderer blog? My name is Jasmina and I am in love with life. I travel the world as much as I can and I would like to turn this passion into a full-time job.
I am a 25 year old girl, originally from Maribor, small town in Slovenia. I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I feel lucky for that. Slovenia is a pocket country and it is situated in the heart of Europe. It has a population of only 2 million people. It may be a small country, but it has everything.
I fell in love with traveling and meeting new cultures and this is what makes me really happy and fulfilled.
What do I do for a living?
I work 9-5 and I am honestly sick and tired of corporate life. My job may seem like a dream job to someone, but I feel like I’m wasting the best years of my life. I feel like I could never settle for an ordinary life. But no, I still didn’t quit my job to travel… someone has to pay the bills.
And what do I do besides that? I try to live the best life as much as I can. I am addicted to coffee, so I love discovering amazing cafés and coffee shops (I also like sweets, so I love to visit patisseries too), I’m a big lover of international cuisine and I always have to try some (to be honest… not just some 🙂 ) local food, I love adventures and I love meeting new people and cultures. I want to visit every single country on our beautiful planet, but I don’t want to just count countries – I want to explore and experience those places. I don’t want to be a tourist – I want to live like the locals do. That’s why I love to get off the beaten path and do some non-touristy stuff.
Why I travel?
Travel is so much more than seeing the sights or taking the photos in front of them. Travel can change the way you see the world and it can really change your life. I love the feeling of meeting new people and new culture, I love people who inspire me. I feel like I grow as a person. I want to make the most of my life, I want to make every day count. Life is too short, so make the most of it.
The Elegant Wanderer is here to share my travel stories (and there a lot of interesting/funny ones), travel guides, tips on where to eat and drink (on a budget or mid-range as I don’t really prefer $$$$ restaurants) and what to do besides sightseing. I will mainly focus on culinary experiences and non-typical-touristy things to do.
